B's Blog
A place to spill my thoughts.

1. You can't get out what you don't put in!
Music is closely related to language. In fact, many people far smarter than me believe that music developed in conjunction with language, using many of the same parts of the brain. How do we learn to speak? By listening and imitating. How do we learn to make music? By listening and imitating. If you want to make great music, which we all certainly do, you have to listen to great music. Take time everyday to expand your musical vocabulary by listening to something new. Only by doing this, can our minds and bodies begin to use music for its original purpose . . . a bridge into the formless, the spirit, the soul.
Remember, you can't get out what you don't put in.

2. Welcome to the future!!!
Welcome to the first installment of B's Blog. As this is my first attempt at blogging, it will obviously be mediocre to poor. First, a reminder. We need help in the band room this week on July 29th from 10:00-2:00. Come and lend a hand if you can.
Now for a quick game. Which of the following has NEVER happened to me?
a) Been attacked by an angry goose. b) Had my tooth pulled at a mall in Knoxville, TN. c) Had my saxophone run over by a car. d) Used duct tape to hold the bumper on my car. e) Went surfing in San Diego and saw a shark.
Cast your vote by leaving a comment. Also, feel free to justify your answer.
Stay tuned . . .
